AIS is a non-profit organisation in the form of an association under Belgian law. The association is composed of prominent Belgians and a dedicated Board of Trustees.
The Board of Trustees is a self-perpetuating body whose members are approved by the association during the annual October meeting. The group is financially and legally responsible for the school and for determining major policies that constantly strive to improve the quality of education for its students. The Head of School serves as an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees.

|Andrew Kris, President|
|Andrew Kris is a founding partner at Borderless Leadership Consulting and Executive Search focusing on leadership roles with an international dimension, in chemicals and converting industries and the life sciences sector. Prior to founding Borderless, Andrew held various senior executive positions on the Management Boards of Dow. He is a board advisor on business transformation and outsourcing and joined the AIS Board of Trustees in 2015. Andrew was re-elected to a second term as President in 2017.
|Johan Tytgat, Vice President|
|Johan Tytgat holds a Master’s Degree in Finance and is a Chartered Accountant. He worked for 23 years as Executive Board Member in Private Equity and multinational companies. Since 2013 he combines the CFO position at Vanad Group with investments and management positions in software companies. Johan is Belgian and has previously lived in Amsterdam and London. He joined the Board of Trustees in 2017.|
|Rob Harrison, Treasurer|
|Rob Harrison is the CEO at DP World Antwerp. He is a globally experienced strategic business leader with strong customer and stakeholder skills. His focus lies on change management and transaction closure. Prior to DP World, Rob held positions as CFO and CEO in various shipping companies in South Africa, Nigeria and Denmark. Rob has a track record of turning businesses around to drive out inefficiency and work towards a sustainable and profitable future. He has a Master’s Degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South-Africa. Rob joined the AIS Board of Trustees in 2015 as the Treasurer and was re-elected to this position in 2017.|
|Edgar Mulder, Secretary|
|Edgar Mulder is a member of the Management Board of Amerborgh, a family owned management company with investments and participations in companies in the field of asset management, cross-media publications, IT development, hotels, property development and activities related to the art and culture. Previously he worked at Unique International and as an independent entrepreneur on a variety of projects for various clients. In 2012 Edgar moved from the Netherlands to Belgium with his wife and four children.
|Sachiv Mehta is an AIS Alumnus and studied Management at King’s College in London. After his studies, he moved to Dubai to set up the headquarters of the family business. In 2003, Sachiv moved back to Belgium where he is the Managing Director of Supergems. Sachiv joined the AIS Board of Trustees in 2015. His wife Hiteshi Shah, also an AIS Alumnus, is actively involved with helping the school at various levels, and their 3 children attend AIS.
|Lama Nasser joined the AIS Board of Trustees in 2017. Lama is an AIS Alumna and highly values AIS. She works as a Yoga Pilates Instructor, Core Strength Teacher, Movement Trainer and Health Coach at Radiant Light Yoga. She has a deep insight into human nature on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Lama is also an artist. She paints and is working towards her first exhibition.
|Leda obtained a MSc degree in Chemical Engineering at the National Technical University Athens, Greece, and a PhD in Bioengineering at Rice University in the USA. Her research and teaching interests are in the field of Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering and she currently holds an Assistant Professor position in the Biomedical Engineering Department at the Eindhoven University of Technology. Leda has lived in Belgium since 2016 and her two daughters attend AIS. Leda joined the AIS Board of Trustees in 2018.
|Falko Abels is Organic Chemist by training who did his studies in Leipzig (Germany) and at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.
He holds a PhD in Chemistry and joined BASF as lab team leader in Ludwigshafen in 2014. He was appointed executive assistant to the president of the petrochemicals division in BASF in 2017 before he moved to Antwerp in 2019 to take over responsibilities as production manager on the Antwerp site of BASF. At the same time Falko joined the AIS Board of Trustees. Falko is a highly-motivated and driving, caring father of two sons and lead of a great team in production in Antwerp. He is passionate to learn about behavioral aspects and motivation; eager to learn languages and get to know different perspectives/cultures.
|Jordan Mourot joined the AIS Board of Trustees in 2019. Jordan and his family relocated to The Netherlands from the United States in late 2018 and he serves as an Improvement Leader at the Dow site in Terneuzen. He has 15 years of experience working for Dow, with his previous manufacturing roles involving working at Dow sites within Texas in the United States. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arkansas. Jordan and his wife, Valerie, are the proud parents of three boys, with the two oldest boys attending AIS.|
|Harpreet Singh is the R&D leader in Dow Chemical Europe and recently relocated to Netherlands from Houston, Texas with his wife and six year old daughter. Prior to joining Dow, Harpreet worked at GE plastics (now SABIC) in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. He holds a PhD and Masters in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA.|
