Once every two years, the entire AIS school community, alumni and local residents gather together to celebrate the cultural diversity that makes AIS such a special place. International Day 2012 will be our biggest International Day yet, with 29 countries represented through an exciting array of booths, selling traditional foods, drinks and crafts. In honor of the International Year of Chemistry 2011, our 11th-grade IB chemistry students attended the official “Closing Ceremony” in Brussels, were they had the opportunity to hear experts like the President of IUPAC and the noble prize winner for chemistry of 2009, Ada Yonath.

Whether you call him Santa or the Sint, someone's coming to town who likes speculass. Come to think of it, so do we, which is why the children in the second grade baked up a batch of these delicious cookies

Two things we can't get enough of: green plants and baked goods. That's why the Middle School Student Council held a bake sale to raise money and awareness for Green Day. Proceeds go to purchasing plants for each homeroom. AIS is sweet on being Green!

AIS volleyball and soccer teams swung into action at the NECIS conference championships. Two MVP and three sportsmanship awards were amongst the honors our players scooped up in Den Hague and Amsterdam.

Grade 9-12 parents must be "sweet" on AIS teachers, seeing as they showed their appreciation with a sumptuous array of pastries and other delights.

From grade-one children reading their first books through high school seniors working on essays and research projects, our new library, with its warm colors, modern furniture and cozy feeling, provides an atmosphere as relaxing as it is stimulating.
